Levitas trotted along, wet sand flying up and leaving a hoofed trail behind him. He shook his flaxen head, causing his mane to ripple like silver water. His nostrils released a contented snort. This beach was a gorgeous place – not to run around in or play, but simply to be. His eyes appeared brighter and bluer as he watched the glistening ocean. The stallion didn’t realize that he’d moved until the warm water was lapping just above his hooves.
He waded further into the salty liquid until it almost reached his elbows. The sun’s rays revealed the oily rainbow in Levitas’ horn and made what was visible above the waves golden and dark silver. He stood there, content to watch the blue horizon as the waves soothed his lean body. This was like heaven; soaking in the warmth of the ocean with a slight breeze blowing to keep him just the right temperature. He happily tossed his head at the sky, thanking it for the fine conditions of this day.

The timid young fae entered the lands quietly and unnoticed. Her tired legs shook slightly with each fearful step. She had been chased, chased by wolves. Her racing mind was clouded with fear and her delicate auds flicked to and fro trying to catch any more signs of her perusers. Her unique coloring always managed to capture the eyes of the beholder, but her own gaze, a icy blue gaze, always managed to get a double take. Her quivering pink muzzle let out puff after puff of quickened air. Her sides heaving. She may posses the power of speed and agility, but she was still an equine, and equine that tired out after so long.
Slowly she continued her pace, letting her icy blue eyes dart form place to place, searching for danger, of maybe a safe place to hide for a time. Just somewhere long enough to catch her breath. Her ebon hooves were soar and she sought out a water source if there was one near by. Her alert hearing did in fact catch the sound of water. A great body of water was near. Confused at the sound she began to take in the change of scenery. Tropical looking plants littered the area, and a soft sandy material soon took over the grass she was used to walking upon. It felt good on her soar hooves and the tropical plants were different, fascinating to the fae. The soft sand soon wound its way into the fur upon her legs and worked its way into her tail, a feeling she was not used to. A soft snort escaped the tired fae's heaving muzzle. "What is this place?" A breathless voice escaped her.
Soon she steadily began to regain a little breath as she reached the edge of the ocean. A beautiful sight. The wasted fae gave a sigh and let her body lower itself onto the soft sand. A place to rest, "I won't make it any further if I don't stop." She delicately lowered her dial onto the sandy floor just out of reach of the water. She did not taste the water, if smelled of salt. Something she did not wish to partake in. She cold find clean water later. Now, she wanted rest. Her ever alert auds never rested though, no telling when a wolf or another dangerous foe would rear its ugly head. But sadly she could not be alert any longer. The sound of the waves lured the cream colored fae into a soft sleep.

Once the sun was notably further down in the sky, Levitas decided that it would be a good time to finally get out of the water. He almost unnoticeably shook himself once he’d waded back to the shore. He turned back to watch the sun for just a bit longer, blue eyes reflecting its warm reddish glow. His hooves began to carry him away from the gorgeous ball of fire, and he was forced to turn his head.
After quite a bit of sand had been displaced by his trotting, the stallion spotted something. What was it? He slowed his trot until his hooves just barely avoided dragging through the sand, cautious in his approach. As he drew nearer, he recognized the general shape of the thing: it was a horse! A mare, in fact. She seemed to be sleeping, he noted. This didn’t seem like the best place to be sleeping, in his opinion. Maybe she was hurt? So, he took a change and walked over to her. He used his muzzle to gently nudge the pale creature.
Hey, he quietly said, Wake up.

Peacefully she slept, for so long she had not taken the time to let herself rest but now, her guard was down. Her crystal eyes closed, and her mind was at peace. Her slow and steady breathing now in time with the slow incoming waves as they hit the sandy shores. The salt air ruffled her tassels ever so slightly in her peaceful rest.
Her mind at ease but another noise was heard. A dream? She was not sure of this and the noise steadily grew louder. A single aud flicked back listening intently. Was she dreaming? A soft beat. It must be a dream. The rhythmic beat of an equine soul walking along the sandy shores. Mother? The noise was almost upon her. Father? Something was touching her, something soft and warm. A gentle touch, not a ruff barbaric touch of an enemy. No this was the touch of a kind heart. Someone not to be feared. At least for now. Such a nice dream.
"Hey, wake up"
The sound of a gentle voice. That is not mother. That is not father. Bella was awake. Crystal eyes flew open and there before her stood a stag. This stag wore a spiraling horn upon his brow. And his build was that of a strong one. The fae let her crystal eyes roam up and down the stag before her. Did he mean her harm? Did he wish to run her off his lands? Certainly these must be his lands and she was an intruder. Her delicate hooves scrambled in the sandy floor as she stumbled to a standing position. The sand gave little friction to grip onto and it was not the most graceful movement but it was quick. Her power of speed made sure of that. Her tired legs cried out at the mare but she ignored them. Her soar hooves cried out in pain but she ignored them.
Instantly the fae went into a bow before the stag, "Sir, please forgive me. I intruded upon your lands. I am sorry." Her melodious voice rang out in the salty air. She did not raise her crystal eyes to meet the eyes of the stag. It was improper, rude. But his touch, it had been so gentle. Why had he been so kind to a fae such as herself? One who had invaded his territory without permission.
